Why I love coming back to Thailand!

This post is the summary of our previous experiences and Thailand travel tips.

Thailand is a truly amazing country. Never have I seen so many contrasts of traditional and non traditional aspects of life. Comparing to western democratic societies it is pretty conservative. However, it has so much to offer that the other countries do not have that I feel more free there than anywhere else.

Koh Samui

Thailand has it all: beaches, beautiful nature, high speed internet that is almost free, fresh food, and a unique way of life and flavor that only Thailand has. This is the place to indulge your appetite for good food.

Koh Samui

Sabai Sabai! it’s is more like Hakuna Matta ta.  🙂

Overall we have been to Thailand twice before. This upcoming trip is going to be our third. And I personally can’t wait!

Thailand

Our first trip was the visit to Koh Samui. A rather posh destination considered by some. We got there by landing and spending a week in Bangkok and then moving on to the island. While on the island we rented a villa with the most amazing views and a pool.

Tip: Renting a car is a good idea if you are going to Koh Samui.

We stayed there for a full month full of electricity outages, some amazing food quests, sight seeing, and more. There is a particular activity that we did that I am not proud of at all.

Koh Samui

This month we also spent with family catching up and making memories. So that experience was a bit different from when we moved on to Hua Hin.

Thailand

Hua Hin is a province on the West side of the country. It is less touristy and therefore seems almost empty. Our location was so remote we had to walk for a while to get anywhere where there were people.

In Hua Hin we rented an attached townhouse. It came with a saltwater pool which was pretty awesome during the hot and humid days. Hua Hin was a beautiful location for sight seeing local uninhabited islands some of which had monkeys and just to be away from hustle and bustle of it all.

Hua Hin

Thailand is an awesome place to indulge in food quests. With so many expatriates living there there is an abundance of high quality restaurants with acceptable prices. From low- to mid- to high-end, even if you are on a budget you can indulge.

When we just came there I could not believe the quality(very good) that we got for the price.(affordable to cheap)

My personal favorite one is, surprise surprise, MK restaurant. This place is a mix between a hot pot and a Korean bbq. To eat for two will set you back closer 20$. Their duck fillet is amazing and other vegetarian options are very tasty. Mmmmm….

The only thing that kind of left me hanging was shopping. to be completely honest, I did not research it all that well back then. This time around we are going to Phuket and I can’t wait to explore some goodies and tell you all about it in the end.

Stay tuned for some shopping therapy updates! I am also excited about the upcoming post about what to wear in Thailand because it is going to cover all the Dos and Don’ts.
